Societies Day a Fantastic Success Feb 2016

IMG_0248

A fantastically successful Societies day was held at the Millpool Centre in West Looe, The third to be held at the Centre, and the most successful yet…

45 of Looe & the districts finest all got together to network, share their interests & views with each other & the fine people of Looe.

The Societies Day event was a great opportunity to get to know what goes on in Looe & the surrounding areas. Organisations such as the Allotment Association, the U3A, the Rifle club as well as representatives from Town Council, who were inviting views & input for the Town Plan were also present.

The list of stall holders also included the wonderful ladies from Looe in Bloom, who with their enthusiastic band of volunteers keep our pretty coastal town blooming with wonderful displays all year round. The ladies were looking for support and new volunteers so that they can keep up their good work, keeping Looe in Bloom…

Feedback from all the groups and organisations at the event was very positive, from opening time at 11am the Centre saw a steady flow of visitors all looking for new groups to join as well as inspiration for new hobbies & activities to get involved with.

Many of these groups such as the Looe Marine Conservation group & Age UK rely on volunteers to keep their organisations going and doing fantastic work in the community. Groups such as the Looe Valley singers & Keltique, besides creating wonderful music contribute to the rich diversity of the area by performing regularly around the area at no cost… although contributions are always welcome…
